Youth Flute Day

The Colorado Flute Association is excited to announce our second annual Youth Flute Day will take place on April 6th, 2024 at Metropolitan State University in Denver.

Like last year, in lieu of a traditional solo competition, we will be organizing three flute choirs for students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Students who wish to participate will audition for placement within their ensemble by submitting a 2-5 minute video recording, repertoire of their choice, by March 12 (deadline extended). Recordings do not need to be professional quality. Cell phone recordings are acceptable. Students with pre-formed chamber groups may also submit an additional piece for performance. We had so much fun last year playing together and making flute friends, we hope you can join us!

Youth Flute Day Registration Fee: $10

• 9:00-10:00 – All interested participants can attend a warm-up session with Dr. Patricia Surman, Professor of Flute at Metro State University
• 10:00-12:30 – Rehearsals
• 12:30-1:00 – Brown Bag Lunch
• 1:00-2:00 – Concert
• Cookie Reception to follow concert
