Live Semi-Finals and Finals held at The University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music

2025 Young Artist Competition

Membership Required: $25 student/$40 adult
Fee: $75
Open to all flutists under the age of 30 by 9/25/2025

1st – $1,000, 2nd – $500, 3rd – $250

Previous First Prize winners are ineligible to compete again

 

Recorded Round
Tapes for Initial Recorded Round are due by September 2, 2025 (Tuesday at 11:59pm)
Results will be emailed to applicants by September 10, 2025 to advance to the Semi-Finals

 

Jacque Ibert Piece for Solo Flute
Otar Taktakishvili Flute Sonata 1st movement with piano (pre-recorded piano accompaniment from the Internet is acceptable)

 

Semi-Final Round
Friday, September 26, 2025, from 3:30-6:30pm at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music
Finalists will be notified by 8 pm for the next day’s Final Round.

Final Round
Saturday, september 27, 2025, in the afternoon at the UNIVERSITY of denver’s lamont school of music
A pianist will be provided for a 45-minute rehearsal in the morning on Sat, Sept 27.

 

Henri Dutilleux Sonatine for Flute and Piano
Amanda Harberg Feathers and Wax
Unaccompanied Flute solo piece of choice up to 7 minutes.  Individual movements are encouraged. No cuts are allowed within the movement.
